First Week of School!

We all had mixed feelings about school starting. I will say I was more ready this year than I have been in the past. It was a long, busy summer and the kids and I didn't get much of a break from each other.

They were ready to go!

HOLY MOLY!!! 4th grade & a new school!!

He has grown so much in the last year! Not a baby anymore!

Looking stylish!

Our carpool crew!! What a bunch!

Lilly walking in like she owns the place!
Everyone had a great first day and loved their teachers!

I am trying so hard to let Lindley's bangs grow out, but it is slow going....

I braided it the other day and it was precious. Of course it lasted about 5 minutes.

Lindley's first day of school was Tuesday. I was out of town, but she was so ready!

Isn't she precious??

So big!!

She had a great day and was happy to be back!

On Friday Lindley and I went to eat with Lilly. She was happy to have visitors and it was nice to spend a little time with her. Of course Lindley was just happy to see all her friends!

Friday night Lance had Brody over for a sleepover. (We tried a few weeks ago and Lance wasn't feeling well.) They were so good and had a blast. I don't think I had to get on to them one time! We may have finally made that transition to big boys!! It is usually hectic and stressful when he has friends over. They played outside and on the XBOX and just giggled!

End of summer

I have a few random pictures to wrap up this crazy summer!

So I have been pondering getting rid of the kids pottery barn chairs (the big kids). They both have other chairs in their rooms and they are clearly too big for them. Jeff says no though. One evening when Lance had to read this is where he ends up. Just thought it was adorable!

This girl is going to start dance in a few weeks!!! She is beyond excited!!! She will be taking ballet, tap and jazz. Our neighbor dances and Lilly has never been interested. However, they are always making up dances and having a blast. I told her that now was the time to try before she got much older. We are so excited to see how she does!

Crazy clouds one evening.

You could see them rolling.

It was so windy! Lindley doesn't like thunder or storms if she is outside. She was panicking and begging us to come in!

I was painting the girls fingernails this evening and Lance wanted to show me something. I told him he would have to wait a few. He took my phone and brought this back to show me! He had been working hard building the playground and splashpad.

I ran up to Target this evening and on my way home saw a rainbow. I thought that was a great way to end summer break!!
Ready or not....it's back to school!!

Pensacola Children's musuem and dinner!

I knew the Mess hall would only take us a couple hours so I checked out what else was close to do. Turns out there is a small children's museum nearby. It is actually more like a historical children's museum, but we thought it was worth a look see.

It has two floors. The top floor is more history based. There were a few fun things to do.

A wooden landing strip!

Haha!! It said to pose with the toy car and Lilly barely fit!

Just her size!

A magnetic fishing game.

In the Native American room they turned the canoe into a bed!

They weren't super interested in the history stuff, but loved the first floor!

Captain Lindley!

Raising the flags.

Hiding his guns under the bed

gathering food.

Working hard

Ahoy matey!

LOOK OUT....she's got a gun!

They were very busy and didn't stop for many pictures. They were having a blast.

BAHA!! Look at her eye!!

Aren't they adorable???

Captain Lilly!!

We had fun just watching them play!!

Jeff buying some food from Lindley's trading post!

Lilly paying Lindley!

Honestly they weren't ready to leave!! It wasn't very big, but they LOVED it!! It was a nice surprise.

Kacki and Dennie have been at Orange Beach this week and we hadn't had a chance to visit. We decided to meet up for dinner!

We took them to our favorite....Cobalt! Aunt Kacki with her great nephew/nieces!!

The whole crew!! We enjoyed a yummy dinner and visited. It's always good to have visitors!

As I paid for our desserts to go on the way out of the restaurant I noticed a box of jelly belly's. They were the bean boozled box. I had seen this a few weeks ago and knew we had to try it!

Each bean can either have the traditional yummy taste of a nasty taste. You don't know until you try it!

We were crying laughing! The kids went first and we thought they were exaggerating. Then I tried the chocolate pudding/canned dog food one.....needless to say it wasn't pudding!! Jeff finally caved and tried the licorice/skunk one and he didn't have good luck either!!! We kept going and tried every flavor. The baby wipes and toothpaste weren't bad. Lilly and Jeff said lawn clippings were ok too. The barf was AWFUL! Lindley was the only one smart enough not to try them. It was nasty, but so fun. I have no idea how they make them taste like that, but you can't even understand until you try!
