Healthy & happy!

We had our appt with my regular dr yesterday. She went over the ECHO report with us, which was written up pretty much as we had discussed with the cardiologist. The dr. said that we were right to be confused & that the reason that everyone is telling us something different is because it is difficult to say for sure at this point. She said that the fact that they have to go through me, the placenta and then Lindley's skin plus the fact that she is little (in general, not abnormally...she's growing great) it's just hard to know for sure what they see. In addition if she is in a different position each time that can make a difference as well. She said that as she grows we may get a better idea, but it may just be that we have to wait until she gets here. She did say that the one thing EVERYONE has said is that Lindley is HEALTHY!! So while we would like a nice neat diagnosis with all the answers it just doesn't seem we are getting that at this point. However, Lindley will be monitored closely & if anything changes we will be aware of it.

We both feel much better. We just wanted to make sure we were understanding everything we were being told & that we were taking all the appropriate precautions. We will continue to seek clarity but are comfortable with the fact that Lindley is healthy & being monitored closely!

"Mom"

Lance told me he wrote "Mom" the other day. I didn't think too much about it until the next time he had school and I realized I had forgotten his papers the time before. When I looked on the back I saw "Mom". I asked him about it & he said he wrote it. So I asked his teacher about it & she said she wrote it on the board and he then wrote it on his paper!!!!

You can see it looks like she wrote it on the bottom, but he wrote the one on the top all by himself!!! This is HUGE. He has been working on his name & has the "L" & "a" pretty good, but this is great. He had a paper & pencil the other day & was wanting to write his letters. So I took the letter chart off the wall so he could see it better & he practiced for probably 15 mins. Then he went & got his soft letters & spelled out his name! I just can't believe how he has taken off. Remember he had no interest in letters or spelling his name this summer?? He really is growing up......can't believe he is almost 4!!!

Christmas Party Fun!!

Both kids had their Christmas parties at school today (they are done till the )!!!! I forgot my camera...sorry!! I took some pics on my phone, but for some reason they haven't been posting to the blog. Anyway, they both had a blast!!

Lilly got to wear her jammies to school today!! She was a happy girl!!

I took this one night this week. Mom got them Santa hats on Tues & he wore it for like two days straight. He even wore it to school Wed.

Still confused

For those of you keeping track we had an dr. appt yesterday afternoon with the high risk doctor. We really didn't leave with anymore clarity. He went on about how fascinated the cardiologist was & how they had both been online looking to see if it was linked to any chromosome disorder. Yet, basically told us the only issue was that her heart was shifted (not a mirror image). So then why are you looking online? Also, the cardiologist said the aorta was on the right (which is what fascinated her & prompted the further search because that is unusual given that her heart is healthy ). However, the tech yesterday didn't see that. We asked questions and he answered them but I don't think he understood why we were confused. The bottom line remains that right now Lindley is healthy. They will keep a close eye on her & monitor her development. We go back to him in 3 weeks. Jeff & I decided the best way to help clear things up was to wait till our appt with my regular doctor & discuss everything with her. I called today & left a message letting her know we were still confused & wanted to discuss things at length. The nurse spoke with her & called me back stating that she would have all the reports & we could go over all them! Our appt is first thing Monday morning!!

4-D ultrasound

Today we actually had a FUN dr. appt. We had our 4-D ultrasound!! We've had it scheduled for awhile so decided to go ahead and keep it. We've seen her a lot, but not in 4-D!! She is BEAUTIFUL (of course) and resembles her siblings (of course). However, we think she favors Lance more than Lilly. We looked at one pic I have in their scrapbooks, but I need to pull them all out to compare. She has a double chin, chubby cheeks & adorable little hands!! In other words... SHE'S PERFECT!!

It was so nice to just look at her & not be concerned with what the dr. was going to say. Clearly, reality is reality, but it was a nice break. Regardless of what the future holds, she is PERFECT and PRECIOUS and we can't wait to meet her!!!!

There really is no need for words....

Lilly lost another tooth!!!

Lilly has had a loose tooth for awhile now. It has been bothering her when she eats. She is like I was & once it's loose she wants it out. However, this one wasn't cooperating and she couldn't seem to get it. This morning after breakfast she was wiggling it and I tried to help her, but it hurt and she wanted to do it. Jeff was at work so I consulted with Pappaw. He spoke with Lilly & she agreed to let him come look at it. She showed him the tooth when he got here and they talked about using a string to get it out. At first she wasn't going for it. So he hung out for awhile & would just talk to her about it every once in awhile. Finally, she was ready to try it. It took a couple tries to get it on there, but he did & as he was trying to tighten the string the tooth jumped out & ended up in the tub!!!! She thought that was SO FUNNY!! She did such a great job and didn't panic or get nervous at all. I was so proud of her. She felt so much better once it was out & was looking forward to seeing what the tooth fairy left her!!!
