The Coleman's Visit!!

Doug, Lisa & the boys are spending their spring break in Orange Beach! We got to spend all day with them Sunday showing them around Fairhope. Then today I broke the kids out of school about an hour early and we headed down to spend the afternoon/evening with them. We all had SO much fun!! I wish we had more time to spend with them!!

We went for lunch then took them to the pier. The kids had a blast!!

You mean we aren't supposed to put our hands in the water??

Silly kids!
After the pier we went for ice cream then back to our house to play some more!! It was such a fun day!

It was chilly at the beach today, but of course they didn't care!!

She is a beach baby for sure!!

After the beach we went for a quick swim, then back to their condo to shower and have dinner. (I'm pretty sure my kids ate 80% of their food)!

One last picture before we head home. Ike & Phillip really wanted them to spend the night. They said they could sleep with them. :-(
My kids were upset when I explained we probably wouldn't see them again before they left.

Silly picture...this cracks me up...Lilly wouldn't make one and Lindley is making one but you can't see her because of Ike's arm!!

It's been too long since we got to hang out and spend time with them. We really enjoyed our visit!!

Spring Fever Chase

Lilly, Lance and I did the Spring Fever Chase this year. Lilly has done it for the past two years, but this was Lance's first time.
Kids from Fairhope Elementary!

Ready to run!!

Starting line!

Lilly with her BFF Madison and friend Mary Mac.

Lilly ran with the girls and took her sweet time. Lance told me he was going to win. I explained that there were a bunch of kids and since it was a fun run they don't do trophies or anything, but he was pretty confident he was going to win. We talked with him about pacing himself etc. I told him that he was free to run ahead, but to just wait at the finish line where I could see him. He started with me since it was pretty crowded. However, once the crowd cleared he took off and I never saw him again!!! I didn't time myself so I'm not sure how long it took him. He finished before me, but a friend of mine saw him finish and thinks it was about 20 mins (it was a 2-mile run)!!! She said he would go really fast for a minute and then stop and walk for a minute and then take off again. (So much for pacing himself!

Lilly finished after me...she was too busy socializing!!

Bedrooms!!

So Jeff got Lilly's room painted and we put some finishing touches on Lances. I also changed some things in Lindley's.

I finally got curtains for Lindley's room. They are just pink sheers, but they make a huge difference! We took the double bed out (don't worry Grandma we plan to get a twin bed to put in here), gave her Lance's armoire and moved most of her toys to her room. I still have stuff to hang on the wall. My parents and I got her stuff for her room for her birthday. (She seriously didn't NEED anything).

Lilly's room in progress......

Such a good Daddy!!
It's hard to see in picture, but the dot wall also has glitter!! Jeff did one coat and she said it wasn't glittery enough so he did a second! It's very subtle but very cute!

Doesn't it look great!!! She was tired of her loft bed so we were originally going to sell it and get her something new, but then Lance said he wanted to try it. So we played musical furniture! We just put his frame in her room. She kept her dresser and we moved the little table in as her desk till we find something. She wanted white furniture, but I really like the way this looks in here.

She also needs some things on the wall, but we ran out of time!

We were planning on making her a fabric headboard. She wanted the canopy the whole time, but once we got it up we decided we don't think she needs a headboard at all. We may decide to do one later, but now this works!

The loft bed looks great in Lance's room. His room is wider (Lilly's is longer) so it actually fits better in here. It seemed to eat her room up. He also got stuff for his room for his birthday. My parents got him new bedding. (His first complete bedding set. He has always just had a sheet and blanket).

I just love it!!

Since I moved his armoire out I put a thing in his closet for his clothes and moved this in for all his dress-up/random toys.

Pappaw & Julie got Lance some fatheads for his birthday!! I'm not sure if Lance or Jeff was more excited. We still had his Purdue ones so they went on his basketball wall. They got him a Drew Brees and a Saints helmet for his football walls. They also got him some Yankee ones and a light switch plate, but I don't have a picture of that wall.

Lance in his new bed, new sheets and new Mickey (from Pappaw & Julie) Happy boy!!

They all seem to be very happy!! Jeff worked so hard on these rooms for them. He did a GREAT job!!

More birthday stuff

Just a few more pictures to share.....
They got birthday money from Uncle Cam so excited!! Lance is saving for something big and I put Lindley's in her piggy bank!

Just in case you didn't get a good view of her board!

I tried to make his look like a trading card.

Styling in her new sunglasses, top and flip flops!!

He got these Legos for his birthday and them same night!

This took another day, but he got it done!
He also has already put together the set Grandma got him. He is a Lego MASTER!!

Lance is 6!!!!

We decided to do Lance's party at a local tumbling place. The thought of 12-15 kids(mostly boys) in my house made me crazy. Plus, I knew weather could be a factor...turns out it was raining the day of his party!
Lance has needed a new bike for probably six months. We just hadn't taken time to get him one. So we made it part of his birthday. We gave it to him Friday afternoon after school. He came in and started playing with Lindley. We waited and waited...he went to the kitchen, bathroom....but never to the living room.

Finally I called for Lindley and he got up too.

I think he is happy!

This face is PRICELESS!! Pure joy!!

Look how big!!

Lance had wanted a home party because he wanted to do Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So despite the fact that the gym will do all party supplies I agreed to do TMNT if he agreed to a outside the house party!! We did cookies decorated like pizzas (the turtles favorites), Toxic ooze (green Kool-Aid) and fruit representing each color of turtle. Of course...cake and ice cream too! They even decorated and made plates, cut cake etc. AMAZING!! Totally worth the money to be able to not stress and enjoy the party!

PARTY TIME!! (Aidan, Lance's first friend, from preschool)

Notice the hair cut? I haven't mentioned it for fear of being disowned by two people in particular (Uncle Cam & Grandma Trisha). He begged and wanted a buzz, but this was as short as I would let him go.

Micah, Lance's second friend, from preschool

Look how big she is!

This girl had a BLAST!! I'm thinking her next party should be here! She would love a class....just to find the time!

GO LILLY!

They were introducing themselves. I love this picture of them talking like old men!

CAREFUL!

SILLY GIRL!

I don't know what she is doing, but it's hilarious!

WEEEEEEEEE

Harper, Lindley's first friend, his Lance's friend's (Brody) sister. Isn't she adorable? She's actually a few month younger than Lindley. Look at all that hair!

Having so much fun!

Their favorite part...knocking down the giant wedge!
Riding the air tramp as the fill it up!

JUMP!

Going down!

I was originally going to make his cake. Then he saw this one at Wal-Mart. He wasn't going to get it because he didn't want to hurt my feelings. So sweet, but I think I'm good with just going and picking it up! Notice the "pizzas" in right corner. We were going to do only red M&M's for pepperoni's. Then I decided the yellow could be pineapple, the green could be peppers, brown could be sausage or bacon etc. Lance decided the blue could be blueberries and decorated on with just blue for him!! He did every pizza himself and would say the food name as he decorated. HILARIOUS!

Sweet face!!
There were a TON of pictures from his party, but I think you get the picture. They ran, jump, flipped, tumbled and had a BLAST!!

We didn't open presents there (another awesome thing) so this is him digging them out when we got home!

On his actual birthday....

He is SO handsome!!

Look out ladies!!

Uncle Cam this is for you!! He did it himself and thought it was the funniest!!!

I see the biggest change between 4 & 5, but he looks so big this  year!!!
Happy Birthday Lance Maksim!
You amaze me everyday!!
