New furniture!!! (& a few other things)

The furniture came on Friday and we are loving it!!!

So exciting!!

This is the first time in our marriage we have ever purchased "nice" furniture that we had delivered. I was pretty excited!

It's BIG! I was totally prepared to panicked about the size, which I did!! However, it didn't take long for it to grow on me!

Not furniture...but nice bedhead!

I really wanted an ottoman, but then decided we probably didn't need one with such a large couch and at first didn't see one I liked. The sales person showed us this one and I really liked that it was a bit lighter. Hands down....great choice. Lindley has decided it's her new reading spot!

She is really into books right now!

Friday night the kids had to break it in for it's first sleepover!! They all slept all night and said it was comfortable.

 

SO.....I knew once we got the furniture I would want a rug (I've wanted one since we've moved in). Anyway, Old Time Pottery was having a sale so I decided to check it out!

I actually got this rug for the living room, but it was too small. I fell in love with it and didn't want to part with it. I tried it in front of the door and really like it!!

Mom bought us some curtains! We have another set for the living room, but have to get the rod up.

Yay a big door mat for our big doors!

Did someone say pillow?? Since our couches were full of color for so long everything I bought was neutral. I wanted our new couches to be neutral so I could add some color and change it more easily when I got tired of it. For some reason I got stuck on burnt orange. I found the smaller ones at Old Time pottery and the two big ones at Big Lots. I LOVE them!!

See...they love it?? Yesterday afternoon Lilly started feeling bad and woke up this morning not feeling well at all. She had a low temp, but not much. Hoping it's just allergies/cold.

Since the first rug I got didn't work I wanted to go look for another one. Plus I had gotten two smaller rugs that matched that I wanted to return. I really didn't feel like going today, but I am so glad we did. Look what I found!!!! The guy there said they just put them out this morning and they were going fast (there were only two left).

It's much bigger and really ties the room together!

But probably won't very often. That's ok cause it's all kid friendly!!

Now that we have gotten started I am on a roll! I moved the side table and a lamp (didn't get a picture) and have a few other ideas.

I made the space smaller, but much more user friendly and cozy. It was so open and naked that it didn't feel very homey. Now I LOVE IT!!!!

 

This week!

Lilly got her script for her play this week and is so excited to have more lines than last time! We also finally watched Aristocats today and she liked it!

 

Wednesday Lindley and I headed to have lunch at school with Lilly and Lance.

They were surprised and happy!! Although they eat early (10:38 for Lilly) so I didn't bring Lindley a lunch and didn't want to get tray (she wouldn't have eaten most of it) and she was MAD at me!!

Awhile back Lance I sorted his legos into Tupperware containers. I've been trying to decide the best way to organize them. I finally decided a fishing box would be best. I got one to see what he thought and how it worked out. He LOVES it!! He has been creating all kinds of things! I had to get one more for a few other colors that he had more of. I know it won't stay this organize, but we can go back every now and then and reorganize them!

Lindley was very into Mickey Mouse on Thursday! She was also very needy and whiney. She was sitting on my lap before bed and I realized she felt warm. Sure enough she had a low grade temp. I gave her medicine and put her to bed. She ended up in our room with temp a little higher in the middle off the night. We had to postpone potty training on Friday. The temp went away and stayed down and by the afternoon she seemed back to herself.

Madison came home with Lilly on Friday and spent the night. I can't believe how big they are getting!!

Potty Time!!

I have finally convinced myself it's time to potty train Lindley. She is not really all that interested, but I'm hoping once we get started she will be on board. The plan is to start Friday. Jeff will be off so we can keep her home for a few days!

We got panties!!

We have stickers!!!

She is excited about the idea. She likes the chart and stickers. Plus the idea of getting a big prize when she gets enough stickers. Let's just hope she likes the idea of using the potty!!

Labor Day Weekend!

I was out of town Thursday and Friday, but luckily made it in late Friday night with no issues!! Saturday we got up and went to order a new couch, then came home and watched football all day.

They were excited, but got tired of being told to stay with us and sit down! It is supposed to be delivered on Friday.

We got a new recliner too!

They were ready for game day!! Of course they didn't watch much, but Lilly made some decorations and they were excited Bama won!

Lance went over to Brody's Saturday afternoon so the girls had some time together! So cute to watch them play.

 

We went to pick up Lance and the girls were mad they didn't get to play longer!

Spider-Man attack!! Lance is on the right...it took me a minute to figure it out!

 

Sunday we got up and headed to the park. We went early to beat the heat and the crowd! This was his hammock!

I WANT ONE OF THESE!! Seriously...it's the best!!

The Nelson's met us at the park. The girls were excited to see each other, but kept going in opposite directions!

No sooner than we got home and sat down for lunch it started pouring! We timed it perfect!! 

Lindley LOVES to fix hair. She will brush Jeff's forever!

Jeff built some shelves in the garage awhile back and the kids got the leftover wood. They finally decided they wanted to make an animal house (for bugs and lizards). Lance was very excited to finally work on it! It's almost done!

Lindley is really starting to enjoy pretend play.

She went and got her barn...notice the toilet and crib? Hilarious!!! (She has a house...just decided the barn was better today)

The girls and I ran to Wal-mart for a few groceries Sunday night....always loads of fun!

I've been thinking about implementing chores with the kids. They have certain things they are expected/asked to do on a regular basis and others that we will pay them for. However, we have never really had a visual of it. So I decided to make charts for them. They have fours things they HAVE to complete each week. The others are chores they can do for money. However, they won't get paid if they haven't done the others. There is no specific day because I wanted it to be flexible and low maintenance. I also reserve the right to move a chore back to "to do" (for example...you will probably clean your room more than once a week). We will see how it works...they were excited today because they wanted to earn money. Hopefully they keep that up!
