Look out...she's on the move!

Mobility?!?

Lindley is going to be completely mobile before we know it. I am in no way encouraging this, but Jeff was tempting her with the remote the other day. Although she isn't crawling she can still get where she wants to....

She started up on the blanket by her boppy......

He kept saying, "No you can't have my toys". SO FUNNY!! We have been telling them it's going to be a whole new world when she can follow them, but they don't seem to understand. She was bound and determined to get her some TinkerToys!!

Date night!!

Jeff and I had our first night out since the baby!! We have found a sitter to help out through the week sometimes when I work and she was willing to do an evening for us. The kids were so excited....they love her. Neither of them said they didn't want us to go, which rarely happens. Anyway, we went to dinner and then did some window shopping. After that we got some ice cream and went down to the pier. It was a beautiful night and there were tons of people fishing! It was very calm and relaxing. We really enjoyed it.

 

Lance woke up in the middle of the night crying because the sitter was gone and we were home. Then in the morning they were both grumpy. I guess we need to leave more often!!

Check ups

I am WAY behind on this....we took the girls together for their check-ups (6 months & 7 years) about two weeks ago. They are both doing GREAT!!!

Lilly is 50 inches (so right about 4 feet) and weighs 60lbs. These are both above average for her age. She ended up having to get a shot, which I hadn't prepared her for. Of course she cried harder about getting the shot then the actual shot! Silly girl.

Lindley is 27 inches and weighs 15lbs. She is in the 79% for her height and 20% for weight. Meaning she is longer than most kids her age, but skinnier!! I've been calling her my string bean. She had to get 4 shots. Poor girl :-(

We talked to the doctor about Lindley's ribs/chest. We have been talking and decided that we wanted to go ahead and have someone else look at it to see if they can explain to us exactly why they didn't develop and if they have any idea how/if they will develop as she grows. She referred us to a pediatric general surgeon. Her appointment is next week. I am not super optimistic that they will be able to tell us anything, but it's worth giving it a shot. I know she's healthy and it's only a cosmetic thing, but I would like to have a better understanding of what caused it etc.

It was a long visit (1 1/2 hours) but we got them done and they are happy and healthy!!

A fun day at the park!

Sunday we headed over to a park we haven't been to in awhile. Lindley was asleep but when she woke up I took her over to play. It was her first time on the swing and she LOVED it!!!

There was a birthday party there and Spiderman came. Lance was OVER THE MOON!! He followed him around and was completely in awe of him. It was so precious to watch him!

 

So glad it is finally cooling off so we can get outside and not be miserable!

Gladiators in action!!

Saturday after Lilly's game we went down to the Art & Bird Fest in Fairhope. We went last year and had a lot of fun. This year didn't seem to have as much, but they still had fun.

My hero!!

This was free, but they only let two kids in at a time for 5 minutes....we waited FOREVER!! My kids were the ONLY kids I observed to actually do it the right way. They climbed up there and attepted to knock each other off. They mostly just fell over!!

We went and watched the Raptor show again and got to see some Owls and a bald eagle. Good times!!

I would like to mention that Jeff has had to work the past two Saturday and just the kids and I went out to these festival. Before going to the Jubilee festival we talked a lot about how they need to behave and even came up with a code phrase (party pooper) for when they needed to stop their behavior try again. I am happy to report that I only had to use it once or twice each time. They stayed with me and were patient and well-behaved. Maybe they are getting it after all!

Jubilee Festival

It's the season of festivals down here and we are taking it all in!! Two weeks ago we went to the Jubilee Festival in Daphne. It was an art show and had an area for kids. We had fun walking around looking at the art and then of course had to play!
